The CIFEJ Board met in Istanbul, Turkey from 7 to 8 May 2011

CIFEJ Membership Fees:

The Board resolved that due to the economic downturn and having researched the membership fees of similar organizations, the CIFEJ membership fees will be reduced accordingly:

1) Individual membership will be US$ 100 per year

2) Festivals and Organizations will be US$ 200 per year

3) Invoices will be sent to all members for immediate payment.

The good news is that CIFEJ has a bank account in Turkey which means that all CIFEJ members can now pay their dues:

CIFEJ Prize:

The Board also proposes that all credible children's Film Festivals will be allowed to award the CIFEJ Prize; rules and regulations can be found on the CIFEJ website www.cifej.com and via the CIFEJ HQ.

CIFEJ Members & Partnership proposals/projects:

In keeping with the promotion of CIFEJ and considering the good partnership with CIFEJ member organizations, the Board resolved that it would continue to call for proposals for 'CIFEJ Day' and Partnership proposals.

CIFEJ will follow up discussion with CINEKID proposal for a possible co-hosting of an International Experts meeting; and with the Iranian Province of Ghazvin to host the International Kids for Kids Festival 2011; and with ABC Nigeria for a probable joint programme of “CIFEJ Day”.

These collaborations are to ensure CIFEJ's presence in Africa, Asia, and Europe. CIFEJ is also in consultation with partners in Northern America and Latin America to increase its visibility and membership.

CIFEJ GA:

CIFEJ has had an offer from PUSAN, South Korea to host the CIFEJ GA in early 2012. However, due to CIFEJ membership being mainly from Europe, CIFEJ invites European partners to host the CIFEJ GA. Rules and regulations for hosting the CIFEJ GA can be requested from the CIFEJ HQ. If we do not receive positive responses from Europe, the CIFEJ Board will have to accept the kind invitation from PUSAN.

The new CIFEJ website is completed and we request members to visit the site to have an overview of all the exciting projects and information from CIFEJ members; also, to update their information and that of their festivals and projects.

The CIFEJ Info is receiving very good reviews.

The CIFEJ Info is produced quarterly and we request members to please send their information, articles, and pictures to be included in the CIFEJ Info.
