“Luca is about accepting each other and building friendships without prejudice of type, race and color.”
Luca's animated story is the recurring story of friendship, dedication, effort, but this time Pixar, in addition to emphasizing friendship, refers to each other's acceptance of each feature and that it takes another step in global tourism and gives another land to its audience. Pixar has recently turned to tourism, showing a culture and customs every time and familiarizing its audience with new things.
This time, in addition to traveling to Italy, pasta, vespa and sunny beaches, it also mentions the local myths and stories of this historic land. Luca Animation is the first feature-length production of 49-year-old Enrico Casaroza, before Luca made the short moon animation and collaborated in other Disney and Pixar groups. Although it hasn't been costly for Pixar, it's perhaps invaluable because it's in the group of animations that take audiences to a new land and face a new culture. Luca is not a strange animation in terms of technique, but a work is successful.
In Luca animation, children and adolescents and even adult audiences become familiar with a new culture. A city in Italy with stories and myths about sea giants. It refers to both the underwater world and the onshore life.Luca, is mix of fact and folklore.
The film's director, Enrico Casarosa, is Italian and considers Luca a tribute to Federico Fellini and other classical Italian filmmakers, as well as the great Japanese director, Miyazaki. He points out that the "The Earth Trembles" by Visconti, "Stromboli" or "Land of God" by Rossellini and “Stand by Me”, by Rob Reiner, as well as stops motion films by Wes Anderson, have inspired him for the film.(1)
Trying to achieve dreams, fighting fear, accepting each other and building friendships without prejudice of type, race and color are among the most important points seen in Lucca's animation.
Luca teaches children, especially teenagers, that books are a good source of understanding for the world. One of the film's heroes, Julia, explains to Luca that they learn to read and write at school, and that by reading books, we can know the world.
We see how Luca and its young viewers learn a lesson about overcoming their fears (which he names “Bruno”) and telling “Silenzio, Bruno” (Silent, Bruno) before doing important and Exciting work.
Luca is a film for children, especially teenagers. This is a family film which is part of the psychology of development. Luca is a very simple and sweet film. CNBC critic Sarah Witten writes in her June 17 note: Luca is "sweet" and happy, even if it does not match Pixar's greatest success
