Ema Pendiuc and Hou Keming joined CIFEJ last year and some weeks before the CIFEJ General Assembly 2012 as new members. They were elected as members of the board by the GA and later Ema Pendiuc selected as the Vice-president of CIFEJ by the CIFEJ Board.

 They are now at the Cinekid as members of the international Jury.

This year the 26th Cinekid Festival is being held from 17 to 26 October in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Cinekid is an international film, television, and new media festival for children and young people between 4 and 14.

The annual Cinekid New Media Award 2012 has an Audience Award and Jury Award for the best new media productions for children. The award of the international competition will be given to the best film on Friday evening 26th October, by Ema Pendiuc, as the president of the Jury.

In an interview with her, when she was asked how she was involved in the film industry, she said: “It happened three years ago, when my sister needed a producer for her graduation short film. As I was an experienced producer in television, I said to myself: “Why not? “. Well, little I know at that time about what film industry is all about. But life took its course, and it was a joyful one. So, I produced the graduation film of my sister, Ariana Pendiuc (film director). The film is called “Magda” and had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival 2010, after being selected in the Short Film Corner section.  Immediately after coming back home from the festival, we initiated the first school of film and television for children, in Romania. We call it “Little Stars”. It turned out to be a very successful project, as one year later, one of our short films for children, was selected at Cannes Film Festival 2011. It is called “Little Stars at school” and the cast is made up of graduates of our school, aged 5 to 11. The leading role of the teacher from this movie was played by myself… .”.
