La Matatena, Asociación de Cine para Niñas y Niños, A.C. invites to participate in the 24° Festival Internacional de Cine para Niños (... y no tan Niños), which will take place from 6th to 11th August 2019 in different cinemas of Mexico City and Estado de México.
We invite you to participate and screening quality films production, national and international for children in the following categories:
•Feature Films (Live action or Animation)
•Short Films (Live action)
•Short Films (Animation)
•Documentary for kids
•Short films made by kids in Mexico and other countries (not in competition)
The Children´s jury of the 24° Festival Internacional de Cine para Niños (…y no tan Niños) give a symbolic award and diploma in each category in competition. The Festival will be in charge of sending the award to each winner after the event.
Rules and Regulations
For the pre-selection of the films, they will be received in digital format (.mov or .mp4), link of Dropbox, Wetransfer or Vimeo, regardless of their original format. If the materials will be selected for the screenings, copies will be requested in the following formats: DCP, Blue ray and /or 35mm.
The material’s date production should be from 2014 to the current date.
The registration is free but the cost of mailing the copy for pre-selection shall be borne by each stakeholder.
For the pre-selection is required deliver along with the material copy:
-Registration form in MS Word format or electronic registration card duly filled.
-Two still photos of film material to be displayed.
-A photograph of the director (in JPG format at 300 dpi resolution).
-Information of the director, film and producer.
-Full data sheets and synopsis.

The materials should be submitted in their original language, if it is not Spanish, you should add a list of dialogues in Spanish and / or English, which may also be sent along with online registration or by email to: festival@lamatatena.org.
The deadline to receive the materials and information for the pre-selection will be on March 15, 2019.
The 24° Festival Internacional de Cine para Niños (…y no tan Niños) provides 5 categories but only four will be in competition: feature film (live- action or animation), short live-action, short animation and documentaries. While the category shorts made by boys and girls in Mexico and other countries will participate only in exhibition. This last one will not be in competition.
The organizing committee will notify to the directors, producers and / or distributors of the selected material to participate in the 24° Festival Internacional de Cine para Niños (…y no tan Niños) on May.
The shipping of the materials for exhibition shall be borne by the participants. The deadline to send the selected materials will be: May 20, 2019.
