Yorkton Film Festival to award $1,000 bursary to winner of Emerging Filmmaker Category

The Yorkton Film Festival has partnered with the RBC to present a new cash bursary award for the 2011 festival.  Filmmakers entering in the Emerging Filmmaker category will now be competing for a $1,000 prize bursary in addition to the Golden Sheaf award trophy 

Submissions to the 2011 Yorkton Film Festival will continue until January 31, 2011, at which time the adjudication process will begin.  The nominees will be announced in March, 2011 and the Golden Sheaf Statues awarded at the Yorkton Film Festival Gala on May 28, 2011 in Yorkton, SK.

The 2011 Festival will take place from May 26 to May 29, 2011.  The event will include workshops from industry leaders, film screenings, our trademark LobsterBlast, and the Golden Sheaf Awards Gala.

This year’s festival includes 19 main film categories, ranging from Animation to Student Production.   Along with the 19 category awards, the Festival is pleased to once again offer a number of special awards.  Submissions that qualify will also be considered for the Ruth Shaw Best of Saskatchewan, Emerging Filmmaker and Aboriginal awards.
